Once you’ve landed “the one”, it’s time to care for it to keep it alive all month long! Here are a few of our favorite quick tips on keeping your tree healthy and happy this holiday season.
- When you bring your tree home, saw off a couple of inches from the bottom of the trunk before setting in water. By sawing off the base, you open up the pores allowing the tree to absorb water.
- A freshly-cut tree can consume a gallon of water in 24 hours! Keep your tree stand filled with plenty of water each day. Most importantly, don’t let the water level go below the tree’s base for optimum health.
- Some folks like to add Aspirin, Sprite, or sugar to the water base for added security when it comes to keeping your fir alive all season long.
